So healthy diet advocates often say to eat your whole foods. Health food promoters say to incorporate greens in your intake. Indeed, those foods load our bodies up with vital nutrients and fiber for a good digestive system.

But you know, you don’t necessarily have to eat those whole foods whole and those greens purely green. They are much easier to digest and to add in your daily intake if they are made into juices or smoothies. These are trending in juice bars nowadays such as the case of wheatgrass.

Now, this might translate to you as “Okay, wheatgrass. That chlorophyll-rich energy-boosting meal equivalent that makes you gag”. And as much as you want to get its goodness into your body, you’d rather say that it’s not exactly your cup of tea. But your green wheatgrass shots can be made tasty with many fruit combinations.

How about some pineapple, orange and papaya for a Hawaiian wheatgrass juice? The ingredients to this recipe are 2 cups of fresh pineapple, 1 orange, 1 papaya and 2-3 inch round of wheatgrass. Simply peel the orange and cut the fruit into sections, juice and combine the ingredients, and stir.

For a passionate burst of fruit flavors, you might want to try tropical passion wheatgrass. This is a combination of 2 kiwis, 1 guava or papaya, 1 cup of pineapples, 5 strawberries, 1 orange and 3-4 inch round of wheatgrass. Just combine the juices together and serve a little bit chilled.

If you’re looking for a more refreshing kind of healthy, then a wheatgrass smoothie would do the job. Juice 2 oranges, 1 banana, 1 lime and a 2-3 inch round of wheatgrass. Place all the ingredients in your blender set on high speed for 30 seconds and just like that, you have your wheatgrass smoothie.

However, if you find these wheatgrass and fruits combination to be one too many of a flavor, you can keep it sweet and simple with an apple wheatgrass. What you need are 1 to 2 cut up apples, ¼ cup of water and 2-3 inch round of wheatgrass. Needless to say, the sweetness of the apple plays an important role here.

These fruits will mask the flavor of wheatgrass thought its color will still be some kind of green. It is just like adding fruit servings to your green salad. It is much healthier and it tastes great.

And if you’re really into your vegetables, carrot wheatgrass would be really nutritious. You would need 3 carrots, 2-3 inch round of wheatgrass and ¼ cup of water which is optional. You may even add celery, parsley and spinach to wheatgrass if you’re really into your greens.

What’s great about wheatgrass when incorporated with soft fruits and green vegetables into juices or smoothies is that it does not lose its effectiveness. All of its health benefits are intact and uncompromised. Whether you take a shot or a full mug to start your day or refresh yourself in the middle of the day, you will not be disappointed with these wheatgrass combinations.
